True story; about 1.5 seconds after that first photo was taken I almost fell into the Lake, I think my heart is still racing. It took some arm flailing to regain my balance, I think the voluminous sleeves on this striped blouse helped me in that regard, but I was able to right myself and took the rest of my photos from the safety of the sidewalk. My minor heart attack aside, this simple look has already secured a spot on my “go-to” outfit list. It’ doesn’t get much more classic than black and white, and who can resit a few neon accessories every now and again.
what bold accessories are you wearing this spring?

Oh my gosh, so scary!! I’m glad you didn’t fall in, especially not in that cute outfit! LOVE those pumps!
Scary is right Catherine, these pumps were not made for swimming!
These pops of neon are genius. I’m all about bold statement necklaces this spring. And good thing you didn’t fall into the lake!!
I love bold statement necklaces in the warmer months too Kyla. They are the perfect way to turn a simple sundress into a complete look.
Gah!!!! How scary! I’ve done something like that before too. I loooooooooove this outfit Cait. You are killin’ it lately lady! Your hair is gorgeous, the blouse is perfect and I love the punches of blue and yellow with the classic black and white. This one and the plaid trousers are my fave looks on you ever! Have a great weekend!
Thanks Robin, I’ve been settling into a spring fashion groove that’s been good to me. Have a great weekend!
I can’t believe you stayed standing. I probably would have sat down on the sidewalk and cried at the thought of coming close to water that cold. Also, you totally look like a model in these pics. And not the smiley kind, the expensive editorial kind.
Harris that is the best complement ever, thank you! I literally had a flash of falling in and then becoming trapped under one of the docks, clearly it’s a lesson in avoiding wet ledges in heels.
Ha! Funny anecdote. That almost happened to me, too. I was riding a motorcycle in a pink tutu; concentrating on the camera (held by a friend in a car), I strayed off the road and was headed for a ditch. Saved it with just 1.5 seconds. Love your outfit, btw.
I remember that post! I loved the juxtapose of the bike and tutu, so glad you didn’t crash!
Thanks for stopping over at Verbal Mélange! So cool that you’re from Burlington…I was born/lived a few hours away for a few years, in North Bennington! Those shoes are so fab, they look great with the black-and-white outfit
What a small world Emma! Vermont is such a beautiful place, I came here for school and doubt I’ll leave now. So glad we found each other on the interwebs!
I love this combo! Black and white stripes are my fav! x
That first photo is wonderfully theatrical.
Haha I’m just glad I didn’t fall in!
