It’s too far into October to call the stretch of glorious of weather an Indian summer but that’s exactly what it feels like. The mornings are chilly but by mid-afternoon everything is drenched in a warm glow that beckons you outside. There is a shared, unspoken, understanding among New Englanders of how precious these golden days are. It makes enjoying them even more important which is why there have been more after work walks, whiffle ball games and happy hour sessions on the front porch.
On this particular afternoon D and I strolled along the paths that wind through Airport Park in Colchester. On our walk we planned out the grocery list, went over our schedules for the week and talked about an upcoming trip; utterly simple and mundane but blissful. We didn’t have anywhere to go or anywhere to be, the only sounds were kids playing across the park and bikes whirring by on the gravel path, the sun was shining, the air was warm and the leaves on the trees glowed. It was perfect.
what simple things do you find blissful?
